2nd is the best
I’m at Campbell Ridge Elementary School in a 2nd grade placement. Our first couple days together have been great. I’m with a great teacher, and I think I’ll learn a great deal from her and the teaching style that she uses. In the class we observed the students studying math and science but I have yet to see them actually study social studies. Out teacher moved some things around so we could have the best lesson to teach for S.S. which is economics (she says that’s the best unit to teach anyway).

Abby,
You mentioned that you hope to learn her teaching style. Can you give more details on what she does differently from what you have seen in past practicum experiences?
Hey Abby... That's great your CT has moved things around for you girls. My partner & I havent been able to see her actually "teach" but thankfully we are able to go early from 9-12 but if our CT could have moved it around I would have been thrilled!
She seems like she really is trying to give you the best possible experience...So if she says Economics is best, regardless of how "scary" it seems, I would go with it. But remember that planning & teaching elementary economics LPs arent nearly as scary as teaching college economics so I am sure you girls will do an amazing job!!!
